Privacy Policy — Jaznan (Hey Jaznan)

Last updated: 2026-08-18

Jaznan (“Hey Jaznan”, “we”, “the app”) is a voice executive assistant for scheduling, reminders, and coaching.

Data we collect

  • Account identifiers (email and internal user ID)
  • Profile preferences you provide (nickname, agent settings, language)
  • Tasks, routines, goals, reminder preferences, and completion events you create
  • Optional Google Calendar data when you connect a calendar: OAuth tokens, event titles, times, event IDs, and the connected account email
  • Voice audio processed for speech understanding during live voice sessions (not stored long-term by us as call recordings)
  • Push notification tokens
  • Subscription status (via RevenueCat / Apple / Google)
  • Device diagnostics when crash reporting is enabled (Firebase Crashlytics)
  • Aggregated behavior used for optional coaching insights

How we use data

  • Schedule tasks, routines, and reminders
  • Sync connected Google Calendar events and write changes you request back to Google Calendar
  • Run voice and text assistant sessions with AI providers
  • Personalize coaching and reminder timing
  • Process subscriptions and provide support
  • Improve reliability (crash and error reports)

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. When you connect, we request the calendar.events scope so we can read, create, update, and delete events on your calendars. We use that data only to sync events into Jaznan, send reminders, and let the voice assistant list, create, update, or cancel events you ask for. We do not use Calendar data for advertising.

How we protect data

  • All network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS
  • Calendar OAuth tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored
  • Calendar tokens and synced events are scoped to your authenticated account
  • Disconnecting Google Calendar or deleting your account removes stored tokens and synced calendar events
  • We do not sell your personal data, including Google user data

Google API Limited Use

Jaznan’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The use of raw or derived user data received from Google APIs, including Google Calendar, will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not use, transfer, or sell Google user data — including raw, aggregated, or derived data — to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models. Event titles and times may be sent to AI providers (xAI and/or OpenAI) during a live voice session solely to fulfill that user’s request in that session.

Third parties

  • Resend (account verification and password-reset email)
  • Google (optional Google sign-in and optional Google Calendar)
  • Turso (database)
  • Vercel AI Gateway / configured LLM providers (text chat and coaching)
  • xAI and/or OpenAI (realtime voice sessions, when enabled)
  • Expo (push notifications and app updates)
  • RevenueCat / Apple / Google (payments)
  • Firebase Crashlytics (optional crash and error reporting)

Wake word (Android)

If you enable “Listen for Hey Jaznan”, the app may use the microphone in the background and show a persistent notification while listening. Audio is processed on-device for wake-word detection. Listening is off by default until you enable it.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account. This removes your tasks, events, tokens, and profile from our database. You may also request deletion online or by contacting support.

Permissions

  • Microphone — wake word and voice sessions
  • Notifications — task reminders and listening status (Android)
